They will join a fourth in Newport, opened by restaurateur George Psihountakis and his brothers in 2005. … The Courier also reports the owners of Graeter’s Ice Cream have agreed to open a store at Fountain Square. The 1,750-square-foot store will open at Fifth Third Center tower, facing Fountain Square, in space formerly occupied by the Cincinnati Visitor Center. It will offer the same products as at other Graeter’s locations, including bakery items and candy, as well as an outdoor dining area. The grand opening is planned for midsummer. Graeter’s is among several retailers that have been rumored or have agreed to be a part of the reconfigured Fountain Square, along with Dewey’s Pizza, Cadillac Ranch, Potbelly Sandwiches and Starbucks. Graeter’s, a family-run chain, was founded in Cincinnati in 1870. It operates 12 stores in Cincinnati and franchises 30 locations in Columbus, Dayton, Northern Kentucky, Louisville and Lexington.
